I'm writing this blog not because I feel like writing, but because I feel obligated. So, please forgive me if this short piece doesn't tickle your fancy, float your boat, caresses your love button, etc.
#1) First and foremost on my mind this evening: Perez Hilton. Yes...the most important blog topic I can think of is regarding The Queen of All Media, Perez. All I have to say to him right now is, "Grow a set!" If you haven't already, go check out his site and watch his latest video blog, desperate for the world's pity and attention. Give me a break. Does anyone else think it's as ridiculous and hypocritical as I do?
#2) Work: Well, still teaching. Can't say I'm ecstatic about it, but it's a job, and in this recession, I'm lucky anyone will pay this extranjera. I am still, however, "interviewing" (or whatever you want to call these ridiculously unproductive meetings) with the CEO/President of the EEDC. This Wednesday calls for yet another meeting, but this time at an upscale cafe/restaurant in the heart of Madrid (most likely paid for.) Can't complain too much about that. Hopefully I'll leave with at least a sliver of information about the job I'm throwing myself at.
#3) WOOOHOOO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I was in Mallorca for the win, watched the end of the game at a deserted Spanish restaurant, reppin' the LA sign to the dismay of my embarressed boyfriend.)
#4) Life in general. As you may already know, Sebas and I recently came back from Palma de Mallorca, Spain. It was fun times, as you can imagine. Aside from that though, life has been ridiculously uneventful since I returned from the states.
I did get a chance to meet up with an old "classmate" (if a 3-day TEFL course can even be considered a class) downtown. Heidi's been traveling Europe and China for a couple months now I believe, and spent her last couple weeks here in Madrid. We had a nice stroll through Retiro and lunch/dinner at a cute outdoor cafe, accompanied by none-other than the 100% Spanish charmer, Winston. A grand time, indeed. She left Madrid this past Sunday, and I must say I was/am a bit bummed. It was nice to finally have a female (American-female) companion here in Spain, even for a couple of hours. As I'm not studying in an academy or living centric-downtown, it is pretty difficult for me to meet people I relate with. Pues nada, that's life. Hopefully I will soon find my niche here. Hopefully...
